Never easy to lose a pet.

In Manhattan, there is a block fair outside the French Institute Alliance Francaise - on East 60th street that I have passed through a few times. Friends and I have sometimes sat for wine and clams on Bastille Day. I wish someone in Manhattan would throw a big party to celebrate! But I notice people are entertaining less ... as am I. Perhaps we get tired of the fuss! I am hosting small gatherings (of one or two) as opposed to the dinner parties (6 - 8 in a New York apartment of the past. I had to co-host if I went larger, as I always hated being invited to the parties pacted with so many people guests could not sit down, nor easily get to the food or drink. I don't know what people were thinking to host those! Sadly, we had to say goodbye to our darling black and white cat Allegra on the 1st of July, so it was not a very festive holiday. She was only seven. Much too young.

My next big fête nationale will be on the 14th of July to celebrate my other country. Wouldn't be who I am without them both.

Cheers, M-TMarie-Thérèsehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06834644226980732441noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8286641315310259749.post-54587583234627683862017-07-06T11:01:29.817-04:002017-07-06T11:01:29.817-04:00Debra, we live a good 2.5 hours south of Atlanta.....Debra, we live a good 2.5 hours south of Atlanta... In earlier years I have gone downtown where they can be seen up close, but then you have the ordeal of getting home, sometimes not being able to board crowded buses for an hour or so. Having done this a couple of times, I'm content with seeing the fireworks from afar. Regardless of uptown or downtown, I have always found the crowd to be mellow, not wild or crazy.Debra Turnerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04553596042707601518noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8286641315310259749.post-49825402059415774512017-07-04T07:27:18.165-04:002017-07-04T07:27:18.165-04:00Thank you so much for the visit.
