As you ...Victoria was a domineering mother, indeed. As you mention, we understand her if not agree with her overprotective measures. Leopold was unhappy because she didn’t take his nature into consideration. Mother and son did love each other and wanted to get along. I thought she was wrong but mostly had his best interests at heart. Luckily Leopold’s feisty nature couldn’t be suppressed. Thanks for commenting, Melinda. His mother was desperately afraid to lose him because she had to watch him almost bleed to death on a trip to Germany, but she really over did it.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15224554909218110145noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8286641315310259749.post-22857562529901639172017-11-08T23:05:41.430-05:002017-11-08T23:05:41.430-05:00Leopold and Alice were my favorites. (I think Queen Victoria's favorite child was her youngest, Beatrice, but haven't specifically read it. Just that she mothered her more than the other children.)Thanks for stopping by and contributing, Charles!Debra Turnerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04553596042707601518noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8286641315310259749.post-64133419991856147412017-04-24T09:52:01.246-04:002017-04-24T09:52:01.246-04:00For the record the Princess Royal (Empress Frederi...For the record the Princess Royal (Empress Frederick) was THE favorite for Albert.Chuck0856https://www.blogger.com/profile/12581901709435015173noreply@blogger.com
