Have a look at several Valentine's Day images to put you in a festive mood to celebrate it. Every February 14th we love the color red, roses, jewelry, and dark chocolate! This year I'll add an easy Strawberry Sparkling Rosè Wine (or Champagne) recipe to follow:
16 ounces strawberries
2 teaspoons honey (or Stevia to taste)
2 tablespoons lemon juice
A bottle of sparkling rosè wine
Directions
1) Toss the strawberries and honey into a food processor and puree until smooth (a blender will work if you can figure out how to get it out. Perhaps pour 1/2 cup of wine into the blender:). Transfer to a pitcher.
2) Add the lemon juice and sparkling rosè wine and whisk.
What a refreshing Valentine's Day sparkling wine + strawberries sangria.

I am a little late getting on here, but I would say that Aperol (the new Campari) can turn a drink delightful colors and it tastes delicious. So I would say, start w Deep Eddy lemon vodka (add some Smirnoff or Stoli Vanilla if you are in the mood), some lemon juice, some simple syrup, pour over ice and stir around so the red colour permeates. If you have some chocolate candy to go with it, and even if you don't- it will be quite a nice V-day.
ReplyDeleteIt's never too late, Barry! I'll try the recipe! Refreshing!!
