Maria Tash Piercings

Although I'm not a big fan of multiple ear piercings for myself, I know where I'd go if I were. Full disclosure, I got my ears single-pieced when I was 22 years old because I looked in my car mirror to change lanes on my way home from work one day to see that I had lost another clip-on earring. That is what it took to get me to pull into a shopping center, enter a high-end store, and have my ears pieced on the spot. Definitely, a sensible move if you don't want to continue losing earrings.

Nowadays multiple ear piercings are trendy, but I don't want to work that hard, or have to buy so many earrings! However, if you don't mind buying and putting in all those extra earrings on in a given day, having your piercings done by Maria Tash is the smart way to go. It's costly, yet anytime you decide to permanently alter your body THE SAVVY SHOPPER recommends paying the piper to have it done properly by a well-trained professional. It's safer and you avoid mistakes when putting holes in your flesh.

At Maria Tash, you 1st meet with a stylist who examines and measures your ears and then gives you advice and suggestions to make sure your vision matches the anatomy of your ears. The locations of the piercings are determined along with you and marked with a special pen before the needle goes in, so the piercings are personalized, even, and precise.

Every client heals at a different rate. Healing times also depend on the piercing location. The chart below gives you an idea of approximately how long it takes for ear piercings to heal.

The earrings you buy are 14k or 18k gold with GIA-certified diamonds, as well as, colored gemstones. They come in many sizes, shapes, lengths, and styles to fit individual customers.
Maria Tash has locations all over the world including New York, Los Angeles, Dallas, Miami, London, Dublin, Paris, and the Middle East. Taylor Swift, Naomi Watts, and Helen Mirren are a few celebrity clients.
Save up ... having your ears pieced at Maria Tash ain't cheap, but money well spent!πŸ’°πŸ’ΈπŸ€‘
Despite not being a fan of multiple piercings, I am a fan of having your piercings done at Maria Tash for the hygiene and precision. You need an expert who'll pierce in the right places.
One word of caution: For the luxury price, the retailer should offer a lifetime warranty on its jewelry, but doesn't. Often customers must pay for repairs, which IMHO reflects badly on Marla Tash. I mean, how cheap for a business not to stand behind its pricey jewelry!
Extra Tips: Maria Tash earrings are also sold by 3rd party jewelers, which you can look for in your town. James Free offers 20% off Black Friday sales. Other 3rd party sellers, such as Tappers and Millooffer free shipping and returns
The earrings are beautiful and real gold, yet it's the skill of the piercers that drives a Savvy Shopper to pay a premium.

Wear Rubber Earring Backs

If our global pandemic wasn't stressful enough ... early on I had an additional scare. After an afternoon of running errands I returned home to notice the metal back of one of my earrings was missing with the now loose earring dangling and ready to fall out of my ear. While running from place to place, the elastic the goes around my ears to hold my face mask on had pulled on the earring enough to yank its back out of my ear ... and in another beat, gravity would have claimed the earring too. What a fright!😱

I don't wear fashion earrings and hope to keep the few real gold ones I own over a lifetime. And, I stopped wearing earrings that week out of fear ... but then I thought of a solution to secure those earrings. Heck, these days due to wearing face masks, I'm not wearing makeup. Must I give up earrings too!?! No way, it's all too much.πŸ˜ŽπŸ™‚

So here's the solution: For $5 - $6 you can buy more rubber earring backs than you'll ever need. So snug, they secure your earrings better than the metal backings that come with many earrings. You can either leave the metal backs off, or double secure your earrings with both the metal and rubber tube backs. Almost nothing will then yank your earrings out of your ears!

I feel lucky to only lose a backing (it was a sterling silver earring lift) and not the gold earring, itself -- so a 2nd chance to find and share a solution! Keep a few rubber backs in your jewelry box to secure all your earrings! And, if they come free with the earrings you buy, don't toss them out! They are much too valuable!!

LED Stud Earrings In 9 Illuminated Colors

People who love Christmas sometimes wear over-the-top Christmas sweaters, or Santa Claus (or Reindeer) motif pins that light up. Are you one of those people? If so, it's not a bad thing, and you are probably a spirited, fun person, who knows how to have a good time during the holiday season. If you can't be festive and over-the-top to celebrate Christmas, when the deck-the-halls can you?
In addition to the ugly Christmas sweater and Christmas themed chotskies, look what else is available: LED Stud Earrings that light up in an array of colors just like Christmas lights! Amazon, some Etsy shops and Ebay offer them, and they are an inexpensive novelty item.
The glowing studs are constructed of stainless steel and come with two tiny batteries. Some are diamond shaped, while others are star shaped.

Are earring studs that glow in the dark for you? If so, what color would you get?

Ho! Ho! Ho! You're welcome, my merry peeps!

Do You Need Earring Lifts?

Photo: Levears, earring lifts
Although I have long, straight hair, I wear pretty conservative, post earrings. Often the more fashion-forward, flashy bling is heavy or bulky, and I can't stand the feel of the weight as I turn my head throughout the day. Frankly, I'm also too vain to wear the weight! Eventually, heavy earrings stretch and tear a wearer's earlobes. After years of damage, some women have to undergo surgery to repair their earlobes. Yikes!

But now there's hope for my wilder side, namely earring lifts. They have several benefits: (1) They relieve the pressure of the weight, preventing heavy earrings from stretching the earlobe; and (2) they stop heavy earrings from dropping if a woman already has stretched earlobes (or not); (3) they also give a heavy earring more stability and comfort; and finally, (4) they improve the appearance of earrings ... with a lift.

Here's how to wear them: Put the lifts in, behind your ears as you would an earring backing. Attach your earrings to the lift to make them stand upright.

Earring lifts go from pricey to cheap:

Levears - are available in serling silver and 14k gold. If you wear heavy earrings every single day, or have stretched earlobes, perhaps the bigger investment of over $200 is for you.

Lobe Wonder Earring Support Patches - are much cheaper, but must be purchased again and again. Buy 60 in a box for about $10.

BlingGuard BlingDots - These are memory foam discs to support and keep earrings in place -- right where they belong. Comes 90 per box for $12.50.

Weather you have stretched earlobes, or just want to wear heavy earrings, no more dropping!
