Woolzies Rose Oil Smells Amazing

Perhaps you've noticed? I rarely write about perfume. (Only twice have I done so which I'll link below.) Because. I don't buy or wear it. I'm an essential oils kind of gal. My all time favorite scent is rose oil. But pure rose oil is very expensive, so usually I buy a quality blend, making sure rose oil is the 1st ingredient. Okay Blended Rose oil, which smells amazing, is a favorite!

"Why is rose oil so pricey," you may wonder? It takes about 60,000 roses to get one ounce of rose oil. (40,000 petals make 5ml of rose essential oil, according to health writer, Jen O'Sullivan).

Thanks again to T.J. Maxx, I discovered another quality pure essential rose oil blend with beneficial skin ingredients that also smells sensational! Woolzies is its manufacturer, and the company is committed to using only the finest organic fruits, flowers and leaves while preserving the earth. Woolzies' essential oils are cold-pressed or steam-pressed to retain all their essence.

In addition to the 5% Rosa Damascene content, the 100% pure essential oil blend has 4 other essential oils that benefit the skin. The 5 essential oils are listed on the bottle in the following order, and I've also researched each essential oil's benefit to the skin:

Rosa Damascene - It comes from the Damask rose. Reduces pain and inflammation. Contains anti-aging antioxidants. Clears up acne.

Geranium oil - Tightens the skin to reduce the appearance of wrinkles; its antioxidants are thought to slow down aging.

Neroli oil - Speeds up skin cell turnover. Reduces inflammation and redness. Improves stretch marks, dark spots and scars.

Citronella oil - Promotes wound healing and is a natural insect repeller. (Citronella oil is an odor in this blend, which I'm not crazy about, but mosquitoes hate it, so it's a fair trade off. The scent is slight while the rose oil is powerful.)

Palmrosa oil - Hydrates and reduces inflammation.

According to Dr. Andrew Weil, a leader of integrated medicine who is also a Harvard educated doctor, inflammation is the main cause of aging. So we get a few inflammation fighters in the blend!

What's more, in several scientific studies all 5 listed essential oils show promise in easing, stress, anxiety and depression. The pleasant floral  scent is a natural mood lifter.

Since the rose oil blend consists of pure essential oils, it is concentrated and therefore must be diluted before rubbing on your skin. Dilute the rose oil blend in carrier oils (such as coconut oil, olive oil, almond oil, or jojoba oil, etc.), or body lotion, or water.

Right after my shower, I put a few drops in my palm and mix with coconut oil (or olive oil), which I use to moisturize my skin. Personally, I like rose oil as a scent instead of perfume. Sometimes I rub a drop on the ends of my hair also. Sooo, if you catch me smelling a lock of my own hair, it's not vanity, but the intoxication of rose oil!πŸ˜…πŸ˜

What a bargain I found at T.J. Maxx ... 4 ounces of Woolzies organic rose oil blend of 100% pure, essential oils with no fillers for $9.99! I got lucky!! The regular price is reasonable too. Much cheaper and IMHO better smelling than most perfumes.

The Beauty of Essential Oils

Lots of beauty and wellness products with expensive price tags contain essential oils. But you can buy pure essential oils for less and make your own remedies! Improve your well being or looks, cheaply and naturally, by adding a few drops to products you already use! According to Energy Times (and backed up by WebMD + other sources), here are 5+ essential oils with 5 ways to use them:

1) Evening Primrose oil - Add a few drops to your shampoo to thicken your hair ... or for a richer potion, add 3 drops to whipped egg whites to make a hair mask. Also adding drops of lavender oil conditions your hair and scalp. Why it works: Evening Primrose is rich in omega 9 and fatty acids, which nourishes follicles to stimulate hair growth. Lavender has over 100 constituentsClick WebMD here for a list of essential oils to benefit hair.

2) Tea Tree oil - Add a couple of drops to your shampoo to treat dandruff. Why it works: Tea Tree oil contains terpinen-4-ol, a powerful anti-inflammatory and dandruff fighter.

3) Eucalyptus oil and 4) Rose Oil - Add a few drops of each to your face cleanser to soothe and prevent wrinkles. Why they work: Eucalptus oil has anti-inflammatory properties that slows down aging, and rose oil improves the texture of skin. Rose oil can also be added to skin moisturizers. {Since the age of 14, I've used Noxema skin cream to clean my face. It turns out Noxema contains eucalyptus oil and camphor, 2 anti-inflammatories.}

5) Lavender oil - Mix 2 - 3 drops of lavender oil with a carrier oil (such as almond, olive, grapeseed, or jojoba) and apply to your temples or behind your ears to promote sleep. Or put drops of lavender oil on a handkerchief to slip inside your pillowcase to sleep more soundly. Why it works: The aroma sends a message to your brain and central nervous system that it's time for rest and sleep. (Other essential oils with similar slumber inducing powers include: 6) Sandalwood, 7) Bergamot, 8) Frankincense and 9) Chamomile. On the other hand 10) Rosemary oil has the opposite effect - its aroma will stimulate and wake you up if mixed with water and sprayed in the air. A follow up in the morning!)

Sometimes people think natural remedies can do no harm. False! Like everything else, you must use them correctly. WebMD has several dos and don'ts to consider. As helpful as essential oils are, they are too concentrated to rub directly onto your skin without carrier oils. Adding drops to shampoo, face cleanser, lotion or cream dilutes their potency. Know: stronger isn't better. The right amount is all it takes to do a job. Also if you take prescription medicine, always check with your doctor before trying natural treatments, so he/she can flag potential drug interactions.
