Featuring Eye Beauty

Ulta has new eye makeup! Since we put on face masks in April to flatten the curve of COVID, I haven't worn any makeup although I see other women wearing it. Shhh, I think nobody is the wiser. Makeup would get all over my mask and look ugly!

And what's more, I'm a false eyelash virgin😂 as I have never glued a pair on. Would they feel like spiders on my eyelashes? I'm up for finding out!

I like Ulta's selections. The top image is makeup to create a subtle eye for a daytime look, the bottom image is for a dramatic night time look.

Here are the products, for the top image click here:

1) Automatic Eyeliner - Available in 18 colors.

2) Ardell Naked Lash #422

3) MAC Powder Kiss Eyeshadow - A selection of 10 colors.

For the dramatic eyes featured in the 2nd image click here. They are:

1) Dose of Colors Smokey Soiree Eyeshadow Palette

2) Dose of Colors Cutting Edge Eyeshadow  Palate

3) Lilly Lashes Faux Mink False Lashes Miami

4) Benefit Cosmetics BADgal BANG! Volumizing Mascara - in 2 colors.

In all probability, we will be wearing our face masks for another year. Without a doubt, the beauty industry is suffering. Sales have dropped since people are staying home and/or aren't making any money. Isn't it tempting to at least play with some eye makeup at home ... perhaps for a Zoom call?

Have you been wearing makeup during our pandemic?

  1. I actually have been wearing makeup during isolation, for a very boring reason. Because I have become highly allergic in my later life, I make sure I put on makeup every day or two because a long time without something often promotes an allergic when I go back to it. And I do not want to have to give up makeup!! My hair is all white now since I turned allergic to the hair dye last October. At least it looks somewhat dramatic :))

    1. I understand completely, Trish. I have worn makeup every day of my life since I entered college a few decades ago. On the 1st week of face mask wearing, I continued to put cover stick under my eyes, but it go on my face mask. I also understand why women wear eye makeup, which is visible with a mask on. I'm just being a rebel by going au naturel for a little while. With the chestnut brown hair I lucked out with dark eyelashes — so it kind of looks like I have mascara on — there's so definition there — or so I tell myself.:D)

Funny thing is I had to stop myself from buying pretty new lipstick colors a few times when out and about. Though not wearing lipstick lately I still get tempted!
