Jewelry Lovers Come Play With Us

I bought this pair from Italo last summer.

On today's THE SAVVY SHOPPER Angie Smith, who has made a few appearances on the blog is back! Both of us love jewelry and like the variety of styles, decent quality, and affordable price points of Italo Jewelry. All of the retailer's jewelry is 925 sterling silver and lab-grown white sapphires.

Here's our fantasy: We are playing the game of if Italo Jewelry offered us 6 free pairs of earrings which ones would each of us select. The following are our choices:

Debbie's picks:

In real life, all the earrings I possess are post earrings so I picked styles I don't already own which include loops and dangling earrings. I also think hearts would be fun to wear on Valentine's day and skulls on Halloween as I generally stick to the classic styles and don't have any themed styles of earrings.

Angie's picks:

Angie's picks are so smart with classic studs and pearls, a blingy pair for formal events, and she loves emerald-shaped stones. As it happens, I overlooked the gorgeous clover leaf drop earrings until Ang sent me her choices. Excellent tastes, Ang, my Glitter Twin never disappoints!!!

Here's an extra style Agie likes.

Know that this blog is written for fun and not sponsored. Last year I bought the pair of lab-grown white sapphire studs at the top of the blog. They are 4 carats in size and truly sparkle. I have such fun wearing them. Often people mistake them for diamonds, which would cost a fortune in comparison -- a 5-figure sum so over-the-top and perhaps for an average joe/jill not worth the expense. The alternative of lab-grown white sapphires and sterling silver allows us to buy the effect without breaking the bank. One caution though: If ordering from online jewelers including Italo jewelry, try to get your order right so you don't have the hassles or cost of returns. You get free shipping only, not free returns for your mistakes.

Angie, thanks for playing this fantasy game with me today! Fun, fun, fun!!!♥️

New Shopping Dolly Cart

For decades I've had a 2-wheeler foldup grocery cart in my closet. While I seldom need it, the times I have a heavy load to carry I do! On one of those occasions just recently, the cart fell apart about 30 blocks away from home. Getting my groceries home that day was not fun!

While the steel body of the 2-wheeler dollies is strong enough to hold the weight of groceries, their plastic wheels are not ... something I didn't notice until a wheel broke off my dolly and rolled away. Why do the 2-wheeler grocery carts have plastic wheels so we can't use them for their intended purpose? Plastic wheels ARE on all the grocery carts sold that I see in Manhattan (including the brand Dolly Trolley). It makes zero sense! Another weakness of a 2-wheeler grocery cart is, when fully loaded, it TIPS OVER on unlevel sidewalks. What's with THAT failure?! It's the only time you ever notice how uneven or unlevel Manhattan sidewalks are.πŸŽπŸ‘πŸπŸ‡

Therefore, I replaced my 2-wheeler cart with a 4-wheeler cart, namely the VersaCart. Weighing 9 pounds, it holds up to 120 pounds. Unfolding and folding it up are simple.

The front wheels pivot 360 degrees to easily maneuver around bumps, people, and pets, and the sturdy canvas is water-resistant. All of these strengths make the VersaCart attractive, but the main reason I bought it is: The VersaCart FITS in my closet, which is not true of the 4-wheeler, metal-grad carts. When folded up, the VersaCart has only a 9-inch footprint. SOLD!

The cart also comes in red and black canvas when you can find them. Overwhelmingly customers give the cart glowing reviews, and it's cute rolling down the street!

As editors like to say, the subject isn't sexy, but for me, it makes a fantastic present, which I ended up buying for myself at Bed, Bath and Beyond using a 20% coupon. Nobody would have thought to buy it for me, and the price was cheaper than elsewhere.

Great for groceries or mall shopping, plus for suburbanites, it folds up nicely to go in the trunk of a car. πŸ›

Macy's Last Act Goodies Rock

Unwritten - Heart & Crescent Moon Pendant Necklace in Sterling Silver & Rose Gold-Plate - $17 here

Hands down, Macy's is my favorite department store in New York City. Not only do I love roaming around inside its iconic Herald Square flagship store, the many in-store and online sales help me find stellar quality goods for less. Nobody has the selection at every price point like the sponsor of the world's yearly Thanksgiving Day's parade. Macy's hits a bulls-eye for a value shopper! And whether I truly need something (my mattress, living room carpet and cooking tools), or wish to splurge (clothes, makeup and jewelry), I always find something at Macy's within budget.

Unwritten - Freshwater Pearl and Sterling Silver Nnecklace here - $14.96
Macy's brick and mortar store, as well as, its website has a rack (category online) you'll adore, called Last Act, for marked down items. I still wear a "Last Act" soft cashmere blazer I got years ago for $14! I couldn't buy the cashmere fabric and make the blazer myself for that bargain price! What's more, the same deals continue now.

Today let's say we are shopping for a lovely gift, or splurge and have fun selecting some darling "Last Act" jewelry at unbeatable prices.
Macy's Amazonite and Sterling Silver Bead Bracelet here - $21.93- Tiffany sells Amazonite  bead bracelets costing $400 here. The name of the stone is taken from the Amazon River.
In my research for today's blog, this value shopper just discovered a new jewelry designer she loves! The brand, Unwritten, "Last Act" pieces are adorable and made of sterling silver, a precious metal, which I prefer to steel or some other non-precious metal for jewelry. Why settle for fakes just because you luck upon a sale? With the Unwritten pieces here, you get good design, real pearls and sterling silver ... all for only a few bucks!
Unwritten - Cowboy Boot Necklace here - $14.96

Macy's Last Act inventory is always changing. Since the economy has taken a deep dive, I'm picking winning inexpensive pieces; nonetheless, all price points end up as "Last Acts," so be sure to check back as often as you wish!

Here's another tip: Sign up for emails to get notified of Macy's one day Flash Sales for equally good savings.

Super cute finds with budget-friendly tags for Savvy Shoppers!
